A better world with Keter
For the past 70 years, we have been a world leader in resin-based products, and we take that responsibility very seriously. We believe we can encourage sustainable consumption through the use of reusable plastics and by extending the life of our products. This includes ensuring that our operations, from material and design innovation to manufacturing processes, are undertaken responsibly.
Some of the Things we Do
We believe innovation in materials is one of the main ways we will solve the sustainability challenge.
We want to double our use of recycled materials by 2028. We are already the largest user of recycled plastics in our industry, reusing 120,000 tons of plastics in 2018! Our Curver Ecolife and Infinity ranges are made from 100% recycled waste. Our RDF team is constantly developing new zero-waste 100% recyclable products.
We take pride in designing products that not only last a lifetime, but we also design in features or processes that boost sustainability.
We design in 100% recyclability. The vast majority of our products are completely recyclable where facilities exist. Our products are flat-packed and easily assembled which reduces shipping and environmental impact. Our packaging is recyclable and mainly comes from recycled material.
Our View on Plastics
Plastic is affordable and uses less energy to produce than wood and metals.
On average, alternatives to plastic are 3.5 times heavier and require 82% more energy to produce, creating nearly 2.7 times more CO2, over the course of their life cycle. We don't believe in single-use plastics. Our products are designed to have minimal impact on the Earth to create a better world, but still meet people's expectations.
We're serious about sustainability.
We're serious about sustainability. Our sustainability policy reflects our commitment to address the pressing issues in our industry and highlights more of the work we are doing. We have big ambitions which are achievable if we work together with our partners, customers and consumers. It's going to take on entrepreneurial spirit and a strong innovative culture to make this happen. That's part of our Keter DNA.
